We’ve had to come up with some creative ways to save on prescriptions because we haven’t had insurance or we’ve had a really high deductible.

Food is a huge chunk of everyone’s budget. It’s also a variable expense (you have some control over it) unlike a mortgage or car payment which are the same amount every month. So, of course, if you’re looking to save some money, food expenses are the first place to start!

This is our basic “bare bones” budget showing how we live on less than $1500 a month. Like I said earlier, we usually make extra money each month. If we do, we decide how we want to spend or save it. I hope our budget might give you a little hope or inspiration if you’re trying to live on less.

We set aside money every month for multiple different bills and expenses that don’t necessarily happen every month. This helps to keep our budget pretty much the same from month to month.
